Eliminating Residential Pesticides One Yard at a Time

One of the largest sources of pesticide use is the home yard and garden, multiplied over several million times. Therefore, addressing this soil and water contaminant issue in urban and suburban areas can be best done on a yard-by-yard basis.

For many, the planting of trees and shrubs that are well suited to your area and careful attention paid to the initial watering schedule is enough to keep many pest infestations away. Weak plants send out a pheromone that insect pests hone in on.

Use common sense rather than a can of something when dealing with home invasions of insects. Often there is a way to discourage an insect population away or out of your house completely. You can also remove or otherwise better contain what it is they’re coming into your house for, whether it’s heat or food. You’ll have to find out.
